May '05 update: Arrangements are being under the Federal 501c3 tax exemption code to allow donations to be tax deductable (Date of being in effect will be announced). The Cazadero Community Center/Museum's final plans were submitted to Sonoma County for building permit issuance in the first week of October '01.
All permits have been issued and the physical work will begin when sufficient funding is obtained (principle obstacle).
The building will be located on the slope above the intersection of Austin Creek Road and the Cazadero Highway on the site of the former Cazadero Bottling Works tavern (see photo on the History page).
Architect Michael Singer will be overseeing the project. Needed contributions to the project can be made by check made out to the Cazadero Community Services District (CCSD)
and sent to CCSD Building Fund P.O.Box 508 Cazadero, CA 95421-0508. Labor, Paint, landscape work & log trees for milling have already been pledged for donation.
The Community Center building was designed around the architectural features of the historic Elim Grove hotel (1892-1919) and the Trosper House (1898-1936).
